Halloween Family Fun Day

Halloween is just around the corner. When I think of Halloween, I think of my entire night spent handing out candy to the Trick or Treaters.  When my kids were young, my husband and I would take turns passing out candy and taking the kids trick or treating. Now, with some cities not allowing kids over 12 to trick or treat, and the streets often being unsafe for kids, it is difficult to get the entire family into the Halloween spirit.

I love looking at family lifestyle blogs to find fun things to do with the family. We found some fun family activities and added  a touch of our own family traditions to make the perfect family fun night.

These Halloween family fun day games can be done with the whole family and maybe even bring along some friends for added fun.  Here is two super fun Halloween Family Fun Day Games that you can play and enjoy with the entire family.

Family Fun Day Photo Scavenger Hunt

In this game, divide the family or friends up into teams, each team is given The Halloween Challenge Printable.

In this game, you can give the teams a time limit of 1 to 2 hours. Each team will drive or walk around the neighborhood and look for the items on the list. Take pictures of the people, or things on the list as proof that you found them.  Each item has a point value. At the end of the challenge, add up the points to see who gets the most points.

The Challenges

These are fun challenges to completed by the team.  Each awesome challenge can be recorded or photographed as proof that your team did the challenges.

When your time is up, join up together, add up the points to see which team wins.  Share stories of the challenges and the photo scavenger hunt.

It is guaranteed to be a fun and memorable night.

You can get together in a neighborhood block party and have a family costume contest. You can offer awards for example, the Most Original Costumes, the Most Scary Costumes, and Best Themed Costumes.

Halloween Neighborhood Festival

Our neighborhood loves Halloween and people come from all over the city to visit the unique displays and fun we offer our trick or treaters. We have one house that shows a halloween kids movie on a big projection screen.

One house offers popcorn and cotton candy. For those a little more adventurous we have a family who decorates their yard like a grave yard complete with costumes, tombstones and open coffins.

Family Education on the Halloween

Have you ever looked up the history of Halloween? Your family can guess how Halloween got its name and maybe where it originated. Then read up on it at a website like this one Whoever guessed the correct answer or the one closest, gets a prize.
